Hyderabad-based integrated logistics services firm Seaways Shipping and Logistics Limited (Seaways) has opened a new and larger warehouse of 90,000 square feet in its Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) division at Sriperumbudur near Chennai.

“Seaways Group is at the forefront of providing integrated logistics solutions to our customers and the FTWZ division plays a crucial role in this. I am delighted that this division has witnessed encouraging growth in a short span of three years, resulting in expansion of our infrastructure to better serve our customers”, Capt PVK Mohan, Chairman and Managing Director of Seaways Group, said while opening the new facility.

“Seaways FTWZ is consolidating its presence in the southern region through the Sriperumbudur facility. We have recently entered the Mumbai market and look forward to expanding our presence to other parts of India including Visakhapatnam, Mundra, Ennore (near Chennai) and Khurja,” Capt Vikas Sirohi, Vertical Head, Turnkey Projects and FTWZ Services, said.

Elaborating further, Sathyanarayanan, Head, FTWZ operations said: “Customers including traders, exporters, importers and manufacturers can benefit from the duty deferment of up to 5 years for the cargo stored by them inside FTWZ.
